Special Film Night in Aid of the Dereham Food Bank

Saturday, 4th February 2017, 7.30pm

I  Daniel Blake

Directed by Ken Loach and winner of the 2016 Cannes Palme D’Or, and BAFTA nominated, the film tells the story of Daniel Blake a carpenter who,  unable to work after a heart attack, is dependent on the benefit system, and of his friendship with Katie a single mother. It is a fantastic film, moving, funny and not to be missed.

‘Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake is a quietly fearsome piece of drama’  Robbie Collins  The Telegraph

‘This powerful parable about the failings of the benefits system avoids irony and cynicism and treats its troubled characters with humour and humanity.’  Peter Bradshaw Guardian
